Community Boundaries:
The community of Fair Oaks, located on the northern bank of the American River 16 miles northeast of the City of Sacramento, encompasses 7,000 acres of land of what once was known as Rancho San Juan Grant. The community runs along the northern side of the American River from the American River from Blue Ravine to San Juan Avenue with Madison Avenue and Greenback Lane as its northern boundary. –County of Sacramento, General Plan Housing Element, 1994.
